I love listening to gospel christian music, whether it is praise songs, traditional hymns, or singing to the radio. There is nothing I love more than singing praises to my Heavenly Father. The lyrics remind me of His everlasting love and how my Savior died for me. There is something about proclaiming his truths and love out loud. The lyrics of gospel music move my heart.
There are many reasons why I love listening to gospel music, but here are the top 5
The beautiful lyrics get stuck in my head
No matter what type of music you listen to, the lyrics or tune gets stuck in your head, whether you want it to or not. How many times have you listened to a theme song, jingle, or a song someone was singing, only to sing it yourself. This proves that the lyrics we listen to matter! We can hear songs based off ungodly words, or biblical truths.
Listening to godly music just makes sense. It affects our thoughts and actions.
Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
Listening to Gospel music renews my soul
In our busy, face paced lives, it is easy too get distracted and caught up in what we are doing. Our minds are focused on our family, work, and ourselves. We get impatient when something takes to long. We get angry about a text message or something someone said. That’s when I turn on Kingdom Citizens Radio and my heart and mind changes. We are reminded to be full of grace and forgiving.
Gospel music encourages me when I need it the most!
Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
