We worship the Lord with everything we do, whether it’s going to work, the gym, and everything else. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37 NRSV). Which is why so many people are listening to gospel christian music.
Listening to music and singing is a great way to express our love to the Lord with everything we are. Worshiping through gospel music has a way to transform and change us. Worship gives us strengthen, builds us up, convicts us, and even resorts us. When we listen to gospel music, sing and give ourselves to the Lord, something truly godly happens.
Worshiping With Gospel Music Fulfills God’s Command
“I… go around your altar, O Lord, proclaiming thanksgiving aloud,” (Psalm 26:6-7 ESV) Throughout scripture, the Lord commands us to sing. “Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody!” (Psalm 98:5 ESV)
In the New Testament, Paul urged the Ephesians to “be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”(Eph. 5:18-20 ESV).
Music is an important part of our everyday life and who God created us to be. “Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!” (Psalm 100:2 ESV).
The scripture encourages us to follow the music of the Lord, connect with God, and allow our hearts to sing.
“Good people have good things saved in their hearts. That’s why they say good things. But those who are evil have hearts full of evil, and that’s why they say things that are evil. What people say with their mouths comes from what fills their hearts.” -Psalms 119:11
